Leonardo Cazzaniga, former deputy primary of the Emergency Department of Saronno (Varese), was sentenced to life imprisonment for 12 murders. This was decided by the Assize Court of the Court of Busto Arsizio at the end of seven hours of the Council Chamber.
Leonardo Cazzaniga was found guilty of voluntary murder against 12 people, ten patients in the ward and mother and father-in-law of Laura Taroni, the nurse her former lover. The Court of Assizes of Busto Arsizio (Varese) acquitted him of the charge of murder of his mother-in-law, Maria Rita Clerici, and of two patients from the Saronno Emergency Department.
