(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 30 - First photos from Anna's Sicilian set (working title), the new Sky Original series created and directed by Nicholas Ammaniti from his novel of the same name, among the most loved of his production, published in Italy by Einaudi.
The images reveal the cast and the protagonist for the first time: the newcomer Giulia Dragotto (13 years old, chosen from over two thousand candidates) is Anna, a young girl who in a world ravaged by a virus, in which humans live fourteen years, starts research of the kidnapped brother, Astor, played by Alessandro Pecorella (9 years old, also his first appearance on TV.).
Anna, the second TV project of the writer PremioStrega, again for Sky after the success of Il Miracolo, is a series produced by Mario Gianani and Lorenzo Mieli with LorenzoGangarossa for Wildside, part of Fremantle, in co-production with ART France and Kwaï. Niccolò Ammaniti is a showrunner and director of the series, of which he signs the screenplay with Francesca Manieri (Veloce come il vento, Il Primo Re, Il Miracolo).
Among the young beginner actors, Clara Tramontano plays Angelica, while Giovanni Mavilla is Pietro. In the castanche Roberta Mattei (Do not be bad, Fast as the wind, The first Christmas) and Elena Lietti (The mad joy, Three floors), who returns to Ammaniti's camera in the role of the missing mother of Anna and Astor, after the experience on the set of IlMiracolo in which he gave face to Sole Pietromarchi, the restless wife of the premier played by Guido Caprino.
A stubborn and courageous girl sets off in search of the kidnapped brother. Among burned fields and mysterious woods, ruins of commercial centers and abandoned cities, among the large desert areas of an island recaptured by nature and the wild community of survivors, Anna has as a guide the notebook that her mother left with instructions to make it. And day after day he discovers that the rules of the past no longer apply, he will have to invent new ones. Anna, distributed abroad by Fremantle, will be in Italy exclusively on Sky. (HANDLE).
