For its part, the investigation into what caused the fatal accident has already entered the second phase. The last remains of the helicopter were removed from the hill and transferred to Phoenix, Arizona, where federal agents will examine the mechanical parts , including the engine and gears. The other line of investigation is related to the pilot's ability to fly in the middle of a fog as dense as there was the day of the tragedy. Investigators wonder if the pilot became disoriented since according to the National Transportation Safety Board, the helicopter lost communication with the control tower being about 2,300 feet high and collapsed at a speed exceeding 170 miles by time.
