(ANSAMed) - BEIRUT, JAN 30 - 390 thousand Syrian civilians, mostly women and children, have been displaced in two months in the north-western region of Idlib, subject to an intense air and ground military campaign by the Syrian Forzerussian and government since December against fighters of the Syrian opposition supported by Turkey. The UN Office for Humanitarian Coordination (Ocha) reported in a press release, a copy of which was received by ANSA.
The UN points out that civilians displaced since January 15 have left their homes or refugee camps more than once in a short time, and this increases their vulnerability in an area where conflict is still ongoing.
