Fanny Agostini: "I come back to TV on Ushuaia TV"

2020-02-01T10:49:07.347Z

Based in Auvergne, the former presenter of "Thalassa" announces exclusively to the Parisian that she will present a monthly program

She returns from her morning swim in a river at less than ten degrees and must stop to repel the wolf entered the room. Fanny Agostini's new life in Auvergne, after ten years in Paris, is all about a renaissance. But the former weather presenter of BFMTV (2011-2017) and of “Thalassa” on France 3 (2017-2019), very committed to the ecology front, has not completely abandoned the antenna. At 31 years old, she delivers every morning, from her farm in Haute-Loire, an ecological chronicle on the microphone of Europe 1. She will return on the small screen to present a monthly program on the environment, "On dry land" , which will be launched in prime time on March 28 on Ushuaia TV on the occasion of the channel's 15 years.

You begin this Tuesday the shooting of a new program, on Ushuaïa TV. Missing TV?

FANNY AGOSTINI. I didn't have time to miss it! I needed to distance myself. I lived in Auvergne until I was 19 years old. Then I went up to Paris with an idea: to make things happen in terms of ecology. Media time had not yet sufficiently embraced the ecological emergency. After the marches for the climate, the speeches by Greta Thunberg, everyone gets started, finally. I needed to move away, but the planets are aligned with the proposal of the director of Ushuaia TV, Christophe Sommet.

What will this monthly show, which starts on March 28, look like?

We will be in operational ecology, the concrete, the lives of people with the ambition to raise the level of understanding on ecological issues. I do not want to be in the divisions and denunciation, but in the spirit of reconciliation, the prism of pleasure more than the constraint. I did not want to have a dinner, but that it had substance.

Why this title "En terre firm"?

It is the idea of two feet on the ground, of rurality. We will be in Puy-de-Dôme, in the middle of volcanoes and sheep, in an old rehabilitated sheepfold. We will not bring any decor! For each of the 8 issues, I will receive a guest, starting with Nicolas Hulot, to celebrate with him the 15 years of the chain. Then there will be Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who has peasant roots. We will meet people who have come out eco-friendly to stimulate the viewers' desire for action, to make them want to put their hands back in the ground and their feet on the ground.

What is your assessment of your new life on your farm in Boisset (Haute-Loire), far from Paris?

I'm happier, 3000%! My Parisian life was unnatural. Here, I am surrounded by horses, biquettes, dogs ... This more authentic life makes sense with the Foundation that we created with my husband. We are carrying out concrete actions for the preservation of biodiversity, educational projects and we are setting up our first start-up incubator in Cantal.

And you produce a chronicle, every morning on Europe 1, "Meet at the farm", from your home…

I did not want to reconnect with the media right away when I decided in January 2019 to stop "Thalassa" after two seasons. When the management of Europe 1 called me, I immediately replied: "I don't plan to come in the morning". They said to me: "stay with your feet on the ground, that's what interests us". I feared that I could not think outside the box. In the end, I have a huge playground and a source of inspiration in all directions. I try to be in analysis, on red meat for example, and to be a vector of knowledge on the life sciences.

Will you be watching the new version of "Thalassa" on February 9 on France 3?

Why not ! It was a great experience, powerful and transformative that I would not have liked to extend. I wanted to go up a notch on ambition. The editorial line should have been stronger and more ambitious. I was not always in phase. In 2018, it was perhaps too early to speak of ecology…

Paris, is it over?

I come there one day every two weeks to take lessons at the Ecole Normale Supérieure on the subject of "biology and society".

Is your farm an observation post for climate change?

I often have coffee in the local bar after the market. The farmers talk about Siberia, the consequences of global warming for them ... Here, I see it, I feel it, with the drought, the flies which no longer hibernate, the chestnut trees which no longer grow below 800 m because it's too mild ...

Municipal councilor in La Bourboule (Puy-de-Dôme), are you again in the running for the elections in March?

No. I was on the list in the previous municipal elections out of friendship for the former mayor, who stopped during his mandate. I never had any political ambition. And my foundation, LanDestini, is a bit political.
