The Ciara storm will hit northern Europe. Its strong gusts of wind, accompanied by heavy rain, are expected as early as Sunday on the British Isles. Over the hours, the North and Pas-de-Calais will be affected, then the departments located north of the Seine, according to the Weather Channel.
In the evening of Sunday, the south-west sell will strengthen very markedly. Gusts could exceed 130 km / h on the coasts of the English Channel, and 110 km / h inland, from Hauts de France to Grand Est.
Flood risks in the Grand Est
Over the rest of the northern half, the gusts should be between 80 and 110 km / h, according to the specialized site Agate France.
The rains will sometimes be very heavy: cumulative precipitation could reach 60 mm, especially on the Grand Est. Which could lead to some flooding.
As for the risks of waves and submersion, the situation will have to be monitored on the Breton coast. The combination of a high tidal coefficient and waves that can approach eight meters could do some damage.
