(ANSA) - BOLOGNA, FEBRUARY 6 - "I have heard of a very serious, intolerable episode that occurred to an 11-year-old Italian of Chinese origin, of which I informed the Quaestor. A racist thug attack by some boys who have insulted and pushed, the boy struck him only to have Chinese origins. Fortunately, the child did not hurt himself. Here the coronavirus has nothing to do, civilization has to do ".
This is what the mayor of Bologna, Virginio Merola, denounces in a post on his Facebook page.
According to the first citizen "similar episodes are unfortunately repeated in Bologna as elsewhere and are added to others, these days, always with a racist background. More serious, in this episode, is the fact that the aggression saw other boys as authors". So, Merola says, "my sincere solidarity with the child and his family. I am ready, if he wills, to meet this child's family. Just as I intend to go where it will be appropriate to start from schools".
