Special desserts from all over the world land in restaurants in Israel during the dessert week to be held from February 11 to February 18. The highlight of Dessert Week, sponsored by Baylis, is a "tea hour" to be held at the Montefiore Hotel in Tel Aviv on February 11-13 from 4 pm to 7 pm with confectioner Tal Spiegel who has lived in Paris for the past few years Grapefruit and milky pistachio; Chocolate anterama with buckwheat and tonka; Shaw (black dough) of black sesame with roses and raspberries, all alongside cocktails, hot drinks and scones, on a special double menu. The chef-confectioners at all participating restaurants will prepare a special dessert menu consisting of two dishes, a nostalgic dessert and an innovative interpretation of the same dessert. Each dessert will be served with a cocktail that combines the Bayliss drink.

The participating restaurants include Tutu restaurant and confectioner Alon Goldman serving strawberry tartlet in two versions. Muna restaurant and pastry chef Itai Petal will be serving up apple tart tartan in a nostalgic version and innovative commentary. La Republique and confectioner Eyal's space will be served by Torte Polenta as a lemon-based almond cake and polenta ice cream on crumble. Also in attendance will be the Maghreb restaurant and the confectioner Hila Biderman, the silk restaurant and the confectionery Tal Itkin, as well as the Kitchen Market, Nono in Kfar Saba, Bar 51, Fresca at Kibbutz Masada, Oasis, and Massa.

As part of this week, Ike Chocolate will create together with chefs from four Tel Aviv restaurants specialty chocolate desserts in George and John, Hotel Montefiore, Zipra and Topolompompo. There will also be dessert workshops with Oak where, the project curator.

The Social Club restaurant opens its decade and hosts a team of chefs who previously worked at the Social Club and are now on their own path. 'So French So Food' is the French gastronomy week that has been held in Israel for the eighth year, starting today (February 9) until February 13. Eighteen French chefs, award winners and award-winning artists, come from Auvergne Ron Alp - a well-known French gastronomy destination, to collaborate with leading Israeli chefs and various restaurants across the country. The event, in collaboration with the French Embassy and the French Institute in Israel, will bring together a range of events to take place in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Beer Sheva, Nazareth, Tiberias and Zichron Yaacov.
