"Soon the boys will come in," says the record label's smile, "Wait here and I'll see you right away." I am excitedly waiting for Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, members of the Pat Shop Boys, who agreed to be interviewed for the release of their new album.

The wait for "Boise" is prolonged. In the process, two British men are leaving the elevator in their 60s, who for a long time are no longer "boys". Four decades have passed since the two first met, and their ease can already be seen from the way they sit down for the interview.

"For the last ten years we have had an apartment in Berlin and we went there to write," says Tennant about the process of creating the new album. "There's a much calmer atmosphere there than London. We recorded in the same studio where David Bowie recorded his album." "Heroes" More dark and melodic. It has a completely different electronic sound. "

When you went to work on the album, did you want to direct what your fans know and love or did you mean what is happening in the music market today?

Lowe: "I don't think we've done any of these options. We work on our own bubble. We're not trying to copy a trend, and we're not going back to our old stuff either. We're just doing our bit."

In the music world there were a lot of twos, but few times it lasts so long. How do you manage to survive?

Tennant: "We never had a reason to say goodbye, we're good friends. We work constantly and don't rest for a moment, so we don't have time to break up."

We've just finished a musical decade, who made the decade musically for you?

Neal: "I would say the Vikings made my decade, and it created the new sound of musical hope."

Is there anyone you can't hear?

Chris: "I don't like to dirty people, but there are some I just can't hear, like Luis Capaldi. And I don't really understand what enthusiasm is very much about Sheeran. It's a crazy phenomenon I just don't understand."

Where does the passion continue to work after so long?

Tennant: "The passion is just there. The work is in the range between desire and habit. It's an urge to express yourself. If someone tells me something interesting - I honestly think how to make it a song."

What is your position on the barracks?

Tennant: "It's already happening, so we got it and we'll see what happens. I thought the Barcasit was ridiculous, but now that we're really doing it - there's something a little exciting about it, it makes everything unexpected."

Lowe: "The truth is that it is fascinating. There were lots of forecasts and now we will see if they come true. If there really is no food, there will be no medicine and there will be chaos within the borders - we might consider leaving the UK."

Tennant: "Maybe we will book a two week vacation outside the UK."

Lowe: "But then we can't get back in."

You are always welcome to come to Israel until all the Barcasit matters are relaxed. In general, you are very popular in Israel. Can you explain why?

Tennant: "No. I have no answer as to why we are loved in Israel or why we are loved in Brazil. Tel Aviv is on the list of the ten cities we play the most. It's really amazing."

Four years ago, you collaborated with DJ Ofer Nissim. How did you get to him?

Lowe: "One day we discovered on the network that Ofer was doing amazing mixes with our songs and also making clips for them. We didn't know anything about it."

Tennant: "We loved what he did so much, but we haven't met Ofer yet."

Over the years you have been an important voice in the struggle of the proud community. Do you feel satisfied with the change in the status of the community?

Tennant: "The world has changed so much. Last year was a sad year for the proud community, because there are countries where gay marriage has been outlawed. But if you look at the trend and not individual cases - the positive trend is moving towards a better direction."

In Israel, for example, student demonstrations took place after Education Minister Rafi Peretz said his children were not LGBT because they had grown up healthy and natural.

Tennant: "What is amazing is that students took to the streets to demonstrate, and no one applauds his words. I think the success of the fight is that teens today don't care about sexual preference. You tell them you're gay and they say 'round it.'
