As soon as he took office at the head of the TF1 group, four years ago, Gilles Pelisson set himself the goal of improving the group's profitability and achieving a current operating margin of more than 10%. Over the entire financial year 2019, the objective was reached with a profitability of 10.9%, i.e. an operating profit of 255 million euros (up 28.3%) for a turnover 2.33 billion euros (up 2.1%).

To achieve this, the group reduced its program costs by 29 million euros, mainly due to the fact that the Women's World Cup in 2019 cost less than the Men's World Cup in 2018. TF1 also reduced its investments in the fiction of 16 million euros while meeting great successes like The Bazaar of charity (which attracted an average of 8.5 million viewers). On the other hand, the front page put more money on the flow (games and variety…) especially in the Mask program
