Thursday's day of the fourth week of competition of the fourth season of Exatlón Exatdos Unidos was an intense battle for the safe-conduct medals won by Tommy Ramos and Karely López .
On the women's side, the People's Champion achieved its safe conduct after completing the circuit with a huge time of 1 minute 6 seconds and surpassed Dennhi Callu , who imposed a record of 1 minute 11 seconds.
The Lord of the Rings had the fastest time of the day with 1 minute 3 seconds, and that helped him move on to the final round, as the times imposed by the boys were very good.
The value of the medals
Tommy and Karely returned thanks to the votes of the public, and they know very well that a medal is not over. In fact, they were the ones who won the most medals in their respective season.
Tommy won four medals in the first season of this fierce competition, all used them against Kenny Ochoa in the last week, so the battle extended to eleven duels, but in the end the soldier defeated the gymnast.
We also remember that in that first season the champion Chelly Cantú used all her medals against Brenda Castro , which was one of the most memorable elimination duels in the history of Exatlón United States.
A good help
The Lord of the Rings knows perfectly the importance of the medals: "They are something extremely important, it does not assure you that you win the competition, but it gives you a second breath and a mental relief," Tommy said after receiving his first pass of the season .
He continued: "It would be best not to use them and win a 4-0 duel, but it is very important, and more now that we have very strong rivals we need all the possible help."
The Olympic gymnast thinks that a medal "is not an advantage, it is something that you earn with your own merit, so as long as we have the opportunity to use them, with everything, because it is really worth it".
Extra lives
The People's Champion is in sharp rise, similar to what happened with her in the second season, started at a low pace and now her performance has risen considerably.
This medal that Karely won is a sign of that growth, in addition, at the moment she is the woman with the second best percentage of her team, only below Alondra Nona González .
Karely also said what the medals mean to her: "A medal does not mean that you have already reached the final and you will win." And she used all her medals against Valeria Sofía Rodríguez, champion of the second season.
"Yes," Karely continued talking about the medals, "he gives you a mattress in an elimination duel and it's like another life. But I do want to take it home (laughs)."
With these two medals, there are already four competitors this season that have a safe conduct. The first to win this benefit were Elías Tirado and Yamilet Peña .
