The first death outside Asia of the coronavirus occurred in France. The Minister of Health, Agnès Buzyn, announced it this Saturday morning. The 80-year-old Chinese tourist from Hubei province was hospitalized in intensive care at Bichat hospital in Paris in late January, "with strict isolation measures," said the minister.
Ten days ago, six patients remained hospitalized after being infected with the new coronavirus.
It was the first death outside Asia. To date, the three deaths deplored outside the borders of mainland China have taken place in Hong Kong, Japan and the Philippines.
