Of the 681 people affected by these new tests, 88 are positive for the virus. This brings the total number of cases among passengers and crew members of a ship immobilized near Yokohama to 542 in total, the Japanese health ministry said on Tuesday.
More test results are expected as everyone on board has now undergone a sample, said Health Minister Katsunobu Kato. It is therefore possible that the total may increase further. In theory, the quarantine period started on February 5 ends on Wednesday.

Olivier Véran also clarified that there were only four people with the coronavirus still hospitalized in France out of the 12 people initially concerned.
