Is "Comedy Star" a reality show? What sets her apart from "laughter from work" or "nightclub"? And was Mia Dagan quick to judge the judges who are unclear what they are? • The home visitor did not laugh in the right places

  • What do the judges do? Netta Alhmeister, Hanan Savyon and Guy Amir

1. You must have recognized the noisy background tune that accompanied Comedy Star. The song "Revolution of Joy" was played repeatedly throughout the program because it is bouncy, familiar and beloved, and also to suggest that we should rejoice. In the matter of the revolution there is nothing to expand on, this is really not what is happening in Zvika Hadar's new plan.

• Everything you need to know about "Comedy Star" stars

For good measure, a winner at the end of the season is guaranteed a Special 13 program, but it is not entirely clear what the rules of the competition are. The premiere program largely lowered expectations, making it clear that the buzz about Israel's next comedian's coronation and attempts to define it as a new reality would only damage the format that is merely a video competition.

There is nothing to do with, for example, the mythical reality "Laugh Academy". At its opening point, "Comedy Star" is nothing more than "laughter from work" or "nightclub," just with a small twist at the end. This is not a reality, even if an attempt is made to categorize each of the stand-up comedians into a stereotypical slot (Father of 2020, Russian, Eastern Religion, etc.).

"Comedy Star" is a punch and skits program, and in essence it is an interesting attempt to process the type of humor that works on the network and produces likes and shares. The laws are blurry, no one is dismissed, the weekly prize is a barter with a billboard company, and everything is flexible and can change as the season progresses. On the other hand, this program is not sure where else to go.

2. And when there is an unconstrained competition, what do the judges mean? Even before the first broadcast of the program, the casting of Netta Elhmeister has already agitated the social networks. A judge of comedians? Why is she who knows what's funny and what's not.

"I would expect to be taken to the judging panel, people whose years of experience in the profession are sufficient to give constructive criticism," wrote Instagram editor Mia Dagan, a panelist at Nightclub. "I have a feeling the joke will be here at our expense, and at the expense of the people who have come to realize their dream."

Indeed, while judges, Hanan Savyon and Guy Amir, were presented by Hadar last night: "They are comedians, filmmakers, directors, actors, the most talented screenwriters we have in the country, and that makes them perfect judges for our show"; He presented Elhmeister as "an international star and a woman worth 1.6 million followers, who can help us decide who made a viral video, who speaks contemporary language, and most importantly - who's the funniest."

And in fact, in some parts Elhmeister was there only to expose a shoulder, giggle, clap, smile and serve as the target for punches and sexual allusions from the men around her. Over the course of a 68-minute episode, she had 285 words, some banal, some answering others, some pre-made punches, but she also pushed some sentences that proved already at the end of one program that she was definitely sitting on the right chair, maybe even more than the other two.

While Guy Amir, for example, admitted to encountering some of the comedians for the first time, Alhmeister knew them from the Internet. She passed the Neitzic era thanks to her affection for his child, and the video made by Mor Chen was disqualified because it did not approach the standard level that Chen produces in her web videos.

So what does it actually mean to judge this show, when the format is unclear, the role of the judges unresolved and the real reward of the people who have come to realize their dream is the sheer air time they receive at prime time? Would Mia Dagan have made it better than planted by Elhmeister? Is it really the joke at our expense or at the expense of Mia Dagan and the other visitors?
