(ANSA) - MILAN, FEBRUARY 20 - There is also a lithograph by Chagall (the 'Crucifixtion grise') never exhibited before to the public and for the first time framed among the masterpieces on display at 'Gauinuin Matisse Chagall. The Passion in French art by the Vatican Museums', which will be inaugurated at the Diocesan Museum of Milan on February 21.
A selection of twenty works by protagonists of art between the 19th and 20th centuries including Gauguin, Matisse, Chagall, Rodin, Rouault, Denis, Buffet and Bernard, which trace the themes of passion and resurrection. Themes "strongly identifying for our museum - explained the director Nadia Righi, curator of the exhibition together with Micol Forti, responsible for the contemporary art collection of the Vatican Museums - that help to reflect visitors". "A small but important exhibition" that "combines the masterpieces of art with profound Christian themes", added the director of the Vatican Museums Barbara Jatta.
