(ANSA) - LIVORNO, FEBRUARY 20 - The investigating judge of Livorno has reserved the decision on the request for new investigations for the death of Marcello Lonzi in the prison of Livorno whose family, assisted by the lawyer Serena Gasperini, has made opposition to the request for dismissal of the case requested by the prosecutor.
Lonzi died in jail on 11 July 2003. He was 29 years old. Once established that the death was caused by an illness, a heart attack followed a fall in which he suffered head and body injuries.
But the family suspects that the 29-year-old has been the victim of a beating and with his lawyer asked the investigating judge to investigate the investigations to be carried out also with the 'bpa', i.e. the analysis of traces of blood to understand if the injuries on the body were either procured them by falling, while he was dying, or not.
