It is with envy that we return, this year again, to the African contemporary art fair 1-54 (for the 54 countries of the African continent) which is held, for its 3rd edition, at La Mamounia, palace of the Red City whose name is a plus for the aura of this little sister from the London (2013) and New York (2015) editions. Its founder, the energetic Touria El Glaoui, daughter of the orientalist painter Hassan El Glaoui, knows this well. And today arises for her, the dilemma of evolving or not the model of this fair which is unanimously the enthusiasm of collectors.
