What are the most common dangers in the city, especially in Paris? Some good practices are essential to dodge


BICLOU, EPISODE 3 - 28 cyclists died on Parisian roads between 2012 and 2018. 13 of them in similar circumstances: after a collision with a heavy vehicle, whether it was a truck with or without d '' a trailer, bus or utility vehicle.

These dramas reflect one of the deadliest dangers for urban cyclists: the blind spots of vehicles without visibility. "It's like putting an elephant in a porcelain store," slips Louis Belenfant, director of the Collectif Vélo Île-de-France and of the Ile-de-France branch of the association Mieux à Displacer à Bicyclette (MDB).

No respite on the bike path

If these blind spots kill cyclists every year, other dangers lie in wait for cycling enthusiasts in Paris. Doors opened carelessly by hurried motorists and their passengers figure prominently in the most common accidents.
