Four inspectors of the National Directorate of Agricultural Commercial Control who had to control a flour mill in the industrial park of Pergamino were attacked by shovels by a group of men who were there.
Carlos Bursi, Adrián Restuccia, Daniel Tarefelski and Patricio Fracescotto suffered "death threats, blows of fists and shovels, when they intended to begin to work the act, once the registration of the mill in which they detected irregularities," reported from the Ministry of Farming.
One of the four inspectors had to be hospitalized for the blows received at the scene.
The Ministry repudiated the aggressions suffered by personnel of the agricultural portfolio in an inspection carried out at a mill in Parchment.
"The Ministry repudiates the violent events that took place this Thursday at a company in the Industrial Park of Pergamino, province of Buenos Aires, where inspectors were attacked when they intended to carry out official control at a local firm," he said in a statement.
According to the Argentine Federation of the Mill Industry (FAIM), an entity that also repudiated the fact, "the brutal aggression committed" was "by people directly linked to a company in the mill sector unknown to our entity."
"FAIM repudiates the acts of violence referred to above, and sympathizes with the affected officials, rejecting this type of mafia acts that all citizens seek to banish," said the entity's statement.
