(ANSA) - KABUL, FEB 22 - Over 10,000 civilians were killed or injured in 2019 following the war in Afghanistan: the United Nations assistance mission in the country (UNAMA) has made it known today.
According to the UN, the conflict killed 3,404 civilians last year, while another 6,989 were injured, for a total of 10,393 people. This is a 5% drop compared to the 2018 budget, but 2019 was still the sixth consecutive year in which the dead and injured exceeded the 10,000 unit threshold.
