(ANSA) - TOKYO, FEBRUARY 22 - The bulletin of people who contracted coronavirus in Japan continues to rise: from the prefecture north of Hokkaido to the island southwest of Kyushu.
A 60-year-old teacher from a high school in east Tokyo was diagnosed with the virus after having had symptoms of nausea during lessons.
Three new cases instead concern a 30-year-old woman from the Chiba prefecture and two men, respectively 50 and 60 years old, in Kumamoto, in the south of the country.
The other cases have so far been found in the prefectures of Kanagawa, Aichi and Ishikawa, bringing the total number of contagins in the archipelago to 750, including those registered aboard the Diamond Princess ship, in the Yokohama bay.
In the meantime, the government has announced that it is considering using the Avigan influenza vaccine developed by Fujifilm Holdings Corp. to treat patients with coronavirus.
