But shrimp that were sold at Aldi Nord are currently affected by a recall. This is announced by the manufacturer of the shrimp now affected by the recall in a press release.

Recall of Aldi product: shrimp sold in several states

The recall relates to the product "Gourmet Fruits de Mer" King Prawn, shrimp tails in the "Nature" variety from the company Heiploeg International BV. This was delivered to Aldi Nord. According to the press release, the manufacturer is based in the Netherlands.

According to the Dutch company, when the prawns affected by the recall were consumed, a "health impairment" could not be ruled out with absolute certainty. The veterinary drug Choramphenicol has been detected in the King Prawns. The drug was discovered during an investigation.

The product concerned is frozen goods that were sold by Aldi Nord. The current recall refers to “King Prawns, shrimp tails” of the “Natur” variety, the “Gourmet Fruits de Mer” brand, with the best-before date of 03/01/2022. The best before date can be found on the side of the folding box. According to the manufacturer, the recall is now due to the precautionary health protection of consumers.

The shrimp tails were sold in branches of Aldi * -Nord in several federal states in Germany: Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringia, as well as in parts of Brandenburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.

The shrimp can be returned to the nearest Aldi Nord branch *, the manufacturer said in the message. Only the product "Gourmet Fruits de Mer" King-Prawns, Shrimp Tails "of the variety" Natur "with the stated best before date is affected by the recall. And: Other best-before dates and other company products are therefore not affected.
