In the aftermath of embarrassing emails, the controversial video ... The Minister of Agriculture Didier Guillaume sharply snatched the microphone of a journalist from France 5 this Wednesday at the Salon de l'Agriculture, when there was talk of the controversy over Sobeval slaughterhouses.
The program "C à Vous" published the sequence this Wednesday evening. We see the minister losing his nerves when the reporter questions him about the internal ministerial emails sent in error to the association for the fight for animal welfare L214 about a shock video in the slaughterhouse located in Dordogne. "I don't have double talk", we hear him answer by taking over the microphone, when he is accused of having hidden flaws in respecting slaughter standards.

- C to you (@ cavousf5) February 26, 2020A few seconds later, the minister, visibly aware of his gap, returned the microphone to the journalist, arguing that he had "put it in his mouth". After a semblance of response, he turns back after a new stimulus from the journalist.
As a reminder, the ministry is in the embarrassment since the revelations made this Monday by L214 on its site. Emails sent in error to the association suggest that the video filmed in the Sobeval slaughterhouses shows many non-compliances with the regulations. And this, unlike the official communication issued in recent days in the media.
Emails also sent to meat lobbies
According to L214, these exchanges dating from February 19 and 20 "betray the concern generated by these new images". In one of the emails, a senior official claims to have “made the list of NCs [Editor's note; non-conformities] undeniable, even major identified ”. Another email from the minister's office insists “We need edl [Editor's note; elements of language] concrete for tonight ”.
These elements of language would have been disseminated internally and transmitted to the prefecture of Dordogne as to several meat lobbies. L214 has been claiming since the Minister's resignation.
The ministry formally denies any lie
In a statement released Wednesday morning, the Ministry of Agriculture gave its version of the facts. He categorically refutes the thesis of "deliberate lying".
"The Director General of Food, Bruno Ferreira, on the basis of reports sent by the services of the prefecture of Dordogne, confirms that there is no evidence to date to confirm the presence of such non-conformities in this establishment . An internal investigation is underway to understand the motivations of this email, ”we can read.
