6:45. A contaminated American soldier in South Korea. An American soldier stationed in South Korea has tested positive for the new coronavirus, military officials announced on Wednesday. The 23-year-old soldier is the first of 28,500 American soldiers present in South Korea to test positive.

6:30. Ex-passengers of the Diamond Princess, in Japan, have symptoms. Dozens of passengers who have disembarked from the Diamond Princess coronavirus cruise ship show certain types of symptoms, the Japanese Minister of Health said on Wednesday. Authorities contacted 813 former passengers on the liner who were allowed to get out last week after being tested negative for the new coronavirus from China. Of these people, "45 reported certain symptoms."
6:15. Situation deemed "very serious" in South Korea. President Moon Jae-in is alarmed when the number of contaminations has jumped again, reaching nearly a thousand cases.
