The health authorities of La Plata recorded 13 cases of dengue, of which two are native, so the fumigation operation was intensified to prevent the appearance of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the vector of this disease.
"We count thirteen confirmed cases of dengue in the region, on which there are two that are native ," said the secretary of health of the municipality of La Plata, Enrique Rifourcat.
The official said that "the concern does not escape that in several cases transmitted by the Minister of Health of the Nation, Ginés Gonzalez García, when he said that this would be the worst year of dengue."
Through the Ministry of Health and the Zoonosis Directorate, the municipality ordered a series of measures aimed at preventing the arrival of the dengue mosquito in the city's neighborhoods.
In that direction they carry out a focus control in the affected places, actions that include fumigation tasks in parks, squares and exposed lands, and scrapping in homes.
Awareness sessions will also continue on the part of municipal health promoters for residents of different neighborhoods of the city.
There are already more than 100 confirmed cases of dengue in the province . Of those, almost 95% are patients who, prior to the onset of symptoms, traveled to the provinces of Misiones and Formosa, as well as Paraguay, Bolivia and Colombia.
