(ANSA) - NEW YORK, FEBRUARY 26 - The art world is mobilizing for Bernie Sanders: Kara Walker, Nan Goldin and Jeff Koons are among the more than 1200 "big names" that the Senator of Vermont would like invested with the democratic challenge against Donald Trump. The campaign was launched by the Artist4Bernie group: if the signatories, in an open letter published on the eve of the primary school in South Carolina, saw more than double leadesions within 24 hours.
The artists praise Sanders' proposals in the field of economics, the environment and international affairs and observe that, if he were elected president of the United States in place of Trump, the arts would only benefit: "Bernie represents the values and virtues that all of us operators culturalilavoriamo. He promised us that if elected he will be a president for the arts, because, as he himself said, 'the arts are freedom of expression, art is the meaning of life' ".
