A federal appeals court has blocked the Trump administration's program, in effect since January 2019, to send asylum seekers to Mexico pending their hearings in the US. The ruling, applicable along the Mexican border, deprives the president of one of his key policies to curb immigration. So far, the so-called "remain in Mexico" program has involved 59,000 people.
