(ANSA) - BERLIN, MARCH 4 - On the third round of voting in Thuringia, the outgoing governor Bodo Ramelow, from Linke (left), asserted himself with 42 votes and accepted the election as president. On the first and second laps, he presented himself Bjoern Hoecke, the controversial leader of the ultra-right of Alternative fuer Deutschland (AfD), who then gave up the last vote. Of the 85 valid votes, Ramelow got 42 yes, 23 no while 20 abstained.
The newly elected president of Thuringia Bodo Ramelow refused the handshake of BjoernHoecke, the leader of Afd who ran against him in two votes. Hoecke was in line like the other members of the regional parliamentarian to congratulate him on the election.
