The new function ensures that the eyes are relieved in dark environments .
WhatsApp also refers to dark situations in which it could previously be uncomfortable when the display of the smartphone lights up brightly. This should no longer be a problem for future cinema visitors who are now using WhatsApp's dark mode. Annoying popcorn rustling must be suppressed analogously.

As chip.de explains, the new feature requires the latest version of the messenger service . Everyone who uses Android 9 or older can find the Dark Mode in WhatsApp under "Settings". Then select "Chat", then "Design" and then "Dark". Anyone who has installed Android 10 or iOS 13 can set the dark mode for the whole system. It then automatically applies to WhatsApp .
Opinions are still divided as to whether dark mode alone is really sufficient to protect eyes and improve sleep. Because the advantages of dark mode also depend on other factors.
