Women from all over the world have taken to the streets to fight for their rights.

This March 8, millions of women from all over the world have taken to the streets to fight for their rights. In Latin America, where there is a high rate of femicide in countries like Mexico, protesters have raised their voices to fight against this scourge and to claim their right to free abortion. In Spain, this year a feminist strike has not been called, but instead mobilization has been called. The march of Madrid has been one of the most massive, where proclamations have been heard to end the glass ceilings and the macho violence. The day has left spectacular images in the different places where demonstrations have been called. We have made a collection of photos from the air, where you can see how the feminist struggle fills the streets.

Mexico

An activity called by the SJF Collective wanted to remember in this 8M the victims of femicures, painting in the Plaza del Zócalo (located in Mexico City) more than 3,200 names of women killed and disappeared since 2016. Photographer Santiago Arau, who had already portrayed the northern border of Mexico from the air, shared the result of these graffiti.

Today # 8M we name all those that we lack, those that today cannot march with us, to which the patriarchal violence snatched us. They all have a name, a face, a story.
Today their names are the cry of justice. # NiUnaMenos

On average, ten women are killed every day for sexist causes in Mexico. The death of Fatima last February, a 12-year-old girl who was raped and tortured, was one of the most generated in the country. In recent months, several demonstrations have been convened that have brought together thousands of people who demand effective measures from the Executive to stop the crisis of femicides, something that has made this year's Women's Day demonstration one of the most massive They remember.

See this, so that tomorrow the authorities do not say that there were few women.
This in two years will be the factor of change in the country.
So easy it would have been to say: "I regret at the bottom of my heart the death of Fatima" pic.twitter.com/zT0gxWBDIB

The images speak for themselves.
So huge is the call, so fair the demand: equity.
Throughout Chile.
Remembering those who are gone.

Madrid

With the motto “With rights, without barriers, feminists without borders” thousands of women marched in the capital to continue claiming their freedom. The data of the Delegation of the Government maintain that this year 120,000 people participated in the demonstration, a large number that, however, is less than half that of last year (350,000). The feminist strike called in 2018 and 2019 was not repeated this year, but popular mobilization was called.
