Easter: egg with plastic-free wrapping to protect sea turtles

(ANSA) - Easter in solidarity with the Mediterranean sea turtles and with the campesinos that in the world produce cocoa with agricultural practices respectful of man and the environment.

The turtle-saving egg arrives: made with Utz dark chocolate (from sustainable cocoa) and selected components to guarantee a product without using plastic. The egg is wrapped in a plastic-free film in Pla (biodegradable material of vegetable origin) and placed inside a cardboard box, with a surprise 3D origami turtle in cardboard, to be built and collected.

The eco-friendly proposal is from Cerealitalia ID SpA, through its Dolci Preziosi brand, and is in support of Legambiente's "TartaLove" campaign "by starting a growth that will pay particular attention to sustainable innovation" said the sales and marketing director by Cerealitalia Aldo Tollemeto.

The campaign, supported by Cerealitalia ID SpA, allows you to symbolically adopt a turtle for a donation from the purchase of the "TartaLove - Plastic Free" Easter egg; donation that will be invested by Legambiente in actions aimed at the conservation of the species, such as financing the living expenses of the recovery centers, the necessary medicines, veterinary interventions, the monitoring activities of the nests that are supervised from the moment of the laying of the eggs deposited up to time of hatching and the entry of the young into the water.

The operators of some Legambiente turtle recovery centers, specialized in the conservation of the Caretta caretta sea turtle, have documented that more than 50% of the hospitalized animals had ingested different types of plastics: bags, remains of bottles and dishes, cotton swabs, lines and various types of packaging.
