The beating was brutal and Hugo Aurelio Jofré (42) did not resist it: he died in the last hours. Nearly a week ago, at least some 20 people had accused him of beating him, accusing him of running over and killing a cyclist in the city of San Luis.
Police sources said Monday that Jofré died after dying at the San Luis Hospital, where he remained hospitalized after being beaten and kicked on Tuesday last week by neighborhood residents.
It all started at dawn on Tuesday, March 3, when Jofre was driving a Volkswagen Up and upon reaching Santos Ortíz Avenue and Santa Fe Street, he rammed a cyclist .
It was Oscar Paredes, 20, who died on the spot despite being treated by medical personnel.
It was then that Jofré began to be attacked by about 20 people who were incredulous for having starred in the accident.
After the attack, the VW driver was taken to the hospital, where he agonized until he finally died this Sunday, sources consulted.
The cause is investigated as "death investigation", and for the moment there are no detainees .
