While series like "The Walking Dead" focus on life after the apocalypse, Netflix production from South Korea deals with the question of how, in particular, the everyday life of the nobility can continue despite a spreading disease.
A concept that worked because the second season of "Kingdom" also impressed the fans. But will the story about Crown Prince Chang (Ju Ji-hoon) continue?
That happened at the end of season 2 of "Kingdom"
First of all, the question arises whether the end of season 2 of "Kingdom" * leaves any scope for a sequel. In fact, it initially looked as if scriptwriter Kim Eun-hee would bring history to a round end: after the undead gained access to the palace, the queen (Kim Hye-jun) fell victim to them. Her child gave birth to her before, so Crown Prince Chang only had to kill him to secure his claim to the throne. Instead, he decided to give the boy power in his place .
Seven years later, the disease appears to have been completely eradicated. But the story does not end here: The new seven-year-old king, who was bitten and healed shortly after his birth, still seems to carry a parasite. Crown Prince Chang and Seo-bi (Bae Doona) also find answers to the origin of the plague in the north of the country. They meet the dealer who sold the herb that caused the disease. Why she acted in this way remains a mystery and should probably be clarified in season 3 .

Will there be a third season of "Kingdom"?
Thus, the plot leaves scope for another season. Netflix has not yet confirmed whether it will be shot or not. However, it should not take too long for the streaming service to make a statement.
