Some students who returned to Puglia from northern Italy have infected their family members, but the situation appears to be under control. Professor ANA Pierluigi Lopalco, epidemiologist of the University of Pisa chosen by the Apulian governor, Michele Emiliano, confirms this to ANSA to guide the forcescientific task of the Puglia Region for the coronavirus emergency.
"We have had some signs, for example some students who have entered Puglia from northern Italy who have infected their owners, but it is not a bomb". "From a health point of view - he adds - the situation in hospitals is more worrying than the return of 23 thousand people". As for the situation in Puglia "at the moment - he notes -, taking all the precautions of the case, the trend of the cases of contagion is slower than that of an exponential growth, by now we have consolidated data.
So, without being too optimistic, we can certainly say that, for now, growth has definitely slowed down in comparison with our forecasts ".
