Attacked and killed in the countryside of Fondi, a municipality in the province of Latina that has become a 'red zone' for a few days due to a coronavirus outbreak. Emilio Magiacomo, a 68-year-old farmer, was found dead on his land in via delle Molelle. There were obvious signs of beatings on the body. From a first external examination of the corpse it seems that the victim was violently beaten, perhaps even with a stick. The suspicions of the investigators focused immediately on a man, a 44-year-old Pakistani citizen, now subjected to judicial police detention. The suspect was tracked down shortly afterwards by police and carabinieri in Fondi, a town from which entry and exit are currently prohibited. The carabinieri of the lieutenant of Fondi and the policemen of the local police station are investigating the murder and are trying to reconstruct the motive for the crime. The hypothesis is that there was a dispute that then degenerated. At the moment there are two possible reconstructions under consideration by the investigator: that the detained wanted to drive by car to the victim's land to head to Itri and that a dispute arose because the farmer would have accused him of ruining the crops and, the another, that the detainee made his way to the land on purpose to meet the farmer. Perhaps the Pakistani had worked in the past for the 68-year-old and perhaps there could be economic reasons for the discussion.
