There is also a positive coronavirus in Atalanta: it is goalkeeper Marco Sportiello, owner in Valencia on 10 March last in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16. The player is asymptomatic and the preventive quarantine, to which Sportiello and all the members of the first team had been subjected, will end on March 27th.

Last week the Juventus players Dybala and Matuidi, after Rugani, the Verona midfielder Zaccagni and Daniel Maldini of Milan, had infected the virus, as well as their father Paolo. With Sportiello the number of positive players in A rises to 16. The sad record remains of Sampdoria with seven infected (Depaoli, Bereszynski, Gabbiadini, Thorsby, Ekdal, Colley and La Gumina), followed by Fiorentina with three (Vlahovic, Cutrone and Pezzella).

Italian players join the now many cases of the Old Continent, from England to Spain: in the English Premier one of the most well-known contagious players, the Arsenal Arteta coach. The Gunners, however, had faced Olympiacos in the Europa League, whose president tested positive at Covid-19 in recent days. Positive, then, three players from Leicester, as well as Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea, while in Spain the Valencia that had faced Atalanta in the Champions League (match under the magnifying glass of the ISS as a possible hotbed) appears a sort of epicenter of the contagion with 35% of the members of the club which proved positive, including Ezequiel Garay; however, the former Roma captain Florenzi was not infected with the Valencia players. In isolation Real Madrid even before the Spanish capital became an epicenter of the epidemic in the Iberian country.
