The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) will make a € 500 million "funding line" available to the clubs. "It is an important sum - said President Luis Rubiales at the end of a conference call with the presidents of all the regional Federations - that will serve to face this moment of emergency due to the pandemic. Football counts for little in front of what is happening, but we all have to help. "
Each first and second division club, therefore, can have up to 20 million apiece, repayable in five to six years. Loans are also provided for the lower leagues and for five-a-side football, which is very popular in Spain.
"It is a hand that we tend to professional football - said Rubiales - We will try to find solutions together with La Liga, it is time to join forces. If the season is not completed, the clubs will not fully receive the part that it belongs to each of the television rights ".
A focal point, according to the president of the RFEF, is that "the various competitions must end. What one wins or loses must be the result of the field. However, we will return only when possible, not a minute earlier".
Finally, Rubiales announced that "the Federation-owned hotel is available to the Authorities for what they want to do with it: hospital, point of stay for doctors, whatever".
