"Today we celebrate 97 years of Air Force history. An anniversary that falls at an exceptionally complicated moment in the history of our country, but which reminds us of the extraordinary contribution that the women and men of this Armed Force have always made and continue to to give, for the safety and safeguard of our communities ". This was underlined by the Undersecretary of Defense Giulio Calvisi, who highlights how even in the last few weeks the staff of the Arma Azzurra has been demonstrating "professionalism" and "spirit of self-sacrifice" in the common commitment with the Defense staff "in support of citizens to contain the epidemiological emergency from COVID-19 ". "The repatriation of compatriots from China, the air transport of patients in bio-containment, the medical support of military doctors at hospitals as well as the air transport of equipment and medical material at the request of the Civil Protection, are all fundamental activities - notes the Undersecretary - that our Air Force is carrying out daily and intensely without saving energy ". Hence the big thanks to General Rosso and to all the staff of the Arma Azzurra also for "the total dedication to the institutions".
