The improvement in his state of health gives hope to the medical team of CHR Metz-Thionville, while the peak of the epidemic is awaited

After eight days in serious condition, a 17-year-old patient left the intensive care unit at Bel-Air hospital in Thionville (Moselle) on Saturday. His condition improved considerably this weekend, according to France Bleu Moselle.

Last week, the death of Julie, 16, at Necker Hospital in Paris, had cruelly proven that the Covid-19 epidemic could also hit adolescents. Two cases had been reported in the United States.

"The young man is doing well thanks to the resuscitation treatment that we all apply, this gives hope and we think that other patients will get out of it," explains France Eric's microphone to doctor Eric Delaveuve, head of the intensive care unit at this hospital, which is part of the Metz-Thionville CHR.

It is still under the supervision of the healthcare teams, specifies Marie-Odile Saillard, the general manager of the CHR.

The peak of the epidemic expected this week at the Metz-Thionville hospital. The director of the establishment sounded the alarm on the lack of beds in intensive care and launched Monday a call relayed by BFM TV.
