Unclog Ile-de-France. The first medicalized TGV evacuating from Ile-de-France, to Brittany, patients with coronavirus left Wednesday from Austerlitz station in Paris, found an AFP journalist.

Twenty-four patients are on this train, which left at 11:12 am bound for Saint-Brieuc and Brest. A second TGV must leave at 12:05 pm towards Rennes with twelve other patients, to relieve the hospitals of Ile-de-France, now the French region most affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.

"An extremely important safety valve"

Tuesday, the director general of the AP-HP, Martin Hirsch, stressed that with 870 patients of Covid-19 in intensive care, "the number of patients tangent the number of beds available" in the Ile-de-France university hospital center. "That does not mean that we are completely saturated," he nuanced during a telephone press point, ensuring that the AP-HP "continues to open beds".

The 36 patients transferred will be added to the 12 evacuated by helicopter last week to Tours, and to other occasional road transport.
