Since the start of confinement, the hairdressing salons have been closed and home hairdressing has been stopped.

Every day, Le Parisien takes action to answer your questions about the coronavirus. Today we are interested in the questioning of "JM" who is wondering how to get his hair cut during confinement.

Remember that hairdressing salons are not part of the authorities that have remained open since containment was implemented because they are not included in the list published by decree. "All salons are closed and hairstyling at home is stopped," said Parisian Luc Hery, the secretary general of the National Council of Hairdressing Companies (CNEC). "We have always interpreted the decree as a prohibition to exercise it, since hairdressing is not considered to be an essential activity", adds one to Unec, the principle of professional organization of the sector.

On March 26, a hairdresser who remained open in Saint-Etienne was also fined, reports Le Progrès.

“The opportunity to change your look! "

So, what if you want to cut your hair? You can always try to chisel yourself by yourself in front of a mirror or ask a loved one with whom you live. But beware of the failure, even if not many people will see it immediately, confinement requires. "From a practical point of view, the best is to let the hair rest even if it grows a lot, it will only be better treated", judge Luc Hery.

Professionals also recommend avoiding doing too large operations yourself, such as dyes. "It may be poorly done and make the job even more difficult for the hairdresser then," said the secretary general of the CNEC. And to conclude with a smile: “This confinement can also be an opportunity to change your look! "
