Great Britain - A cyclopean field hospital in London, the Kingdom is in a hurry now

Two weeks to make the project a reality, only 9 days to set up a new, huge treatment unit against the coronavirus emergency: the first temporary hospital built in the United Kingdom to cope was inaugurated in East London, on the Thames to the challenge, capable of welcoming up to 4 thousand COVID-19 patients. The structure - an indisputable success for the government of Boris Johnson, after the perplexities of more than one on his initial strategy in this battle and the open criticisms on the delays in the tests - was raised in the pavilions of the ExCeL exhibition center, built in 2012 to host some competitions of the London Olympic Games. A space as far as the eye can see, 87,328 square meters, where 80 departments have been set up, each with 42 beds. While other 500 workstations equipped for the administration of oxygen and with fans have been reserved for the most serious cases. The center will be entirely dedicated to the treatment of coronavirus patients, to alleviate the load that has hit the 'historic' hospitals of the capital: the epicenter of an infection that has started to gallop across the Channel, amid burst admissions, procedures that are not always crystal clear on the part of the frantic national health service (NHS) and unfortunately deaths on the rise.
The new reality has been named NHS Nightingale hospital, in honor of Florence Nightingale, known as "the lady with the lantern", who was a pioneer of modern nursing care, and has the potential to be almost doubled if necessary. To complete the work as soon as possible, workers, nurses and 200 soldiers from the Royal Anglian Regiment and the Nepalese department of the legendary Royal Gurkha Rifles took turns in 15-hour shifts. "A spectacular and almost incredible work for the speed of execution," said Prince Charles, heir to the throne, inaugurating it on video from the Scottish royal estate of Balmoral, who has just returned from the infection. "An example of what needs to be done, until the impossible is made possible," he said. The result of "an immense effort", then echoed Johnson via Twitter. Five temporary hospitals are now being opened in other UK cities, from Cardiff (2,000 beds in the Millenium Stadium), Birmingham (also 2,000 seats), Manchester (1,000), Glasgow (1,000) and Belfast (230). An impressive panorama, but that may still not be enough where the rate of infection on the island has continued at the rate of the last few days.
