(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 4 - India yesterday recorded a record 601 new cases of coronavirus: the country's health minister announced it, according to CNN reports.
This is a 26% increase over Thursday. Meanwhile, data from Johns Hopkins University indicate that the total number of infections in India has reached 3,082, with 86 deaths and 229 people recovered.
The surge in daily cases, according to an official from the Ministry of Health, is linked to a religious gathering that took place in a mosque in New Delhi last month. So far 647 cases have been directly linked to this rally and all infected people have been identified and placed in isolation.
