Ministry of Health update indicates a moderate increase in numbers • However, it should be taken into account that the number of tests has been reduced • The number of deceased has risen to 49

Corona spread in Israel: Tonight (Sunday) the Ministry of Health announced that the number of corona patients in Israel has risen to 8,430. Of the total number of patients, 139 are in serious condition, and 106 are hospitalized.

Meanwhile, the death toll from Corona rose to 49 people. Earlier this evening, a 98-year-old elderly woman who had been admitted to the special ward died at the Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. The hospital said: "Due to the dire condition and due to complex background illnesses, the woman was treated in a secluded room by a trained staff and taken to Corona. A positive response was received in the afternoon. We participate in family grief."

Meanwhile, in an interview with News 12, Interior Minister Aryeh Deri said tonight that the government is considering imposing a full curfew on Seder night, for the entire state. He said that in Jerusalem there would be a partial closure and the city would be divided into eight spaces without traffic between them.

In the interview, Minister Deri said: "We have considered curfew a few weeks ago, but we did not want to paralyze the state. On Passover there is no work or office. Especially on the Seder night, we do not want people to start jumping from family to family, with all the heartache this year to make order in the small family "That is why we are considering making a curfew on Seder night. On Passover evening there is no shopping anymore, everyone has already bought what they need. Any car traveling on the roads on Passover evening will have to give an explanation to the police."

Asked about the length of the curfew planned for Seder, Deri said: "I can't say if the curfew will last a day or more - we talk about it so people get ready for it."

Addressing the issue of the closure of the ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods in Jerusalem, Deri said: "We found a solution. The city will be divided into quarters, eight spaces in fact. People can do their shopping and arrangements in the space itself, but not move from space to space. .

Close on more cities?

The government is expected to decide soon, perhaps this evening, whether to declare more cities and neighborhoods as a "restricted area," meaning de facto closure. The Ministry of Health demands to immediately declare a "restricted zone" for some of the eruption centers: ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods in Beit Shemesh and Jerusalem, the cities of Modi'in Illit and Betar Illit, and the settlement of Elad.

These are areas that are defined as dense population areas, where many families from the ultra-Orthodox and religious Zionist families live. The Ministry of Health is also demanding to begin the closure of other cities with a large increase in the number of people infected, including: Tiberias, Ashkelon and Migdal Haemek.

As for Jerusalem, Interior Minister Aryeh Deri warned earlier today that "in some neighborhoods in Jerusalem the situation is worse than Barak's lightning." The Ministry of Health requires closure of almost all ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods in the city: Har Nof, Beit Vagan, Givat Mordechai, Ramot, Ramat Shlomo, Sanhedria, Samuel the Prophet, Beit Yisrael, the Bukharim, Mea She'arim, Geula, Zichron Moshe, Mekor Baruch, Givat Shaul and Kiryat Moshe.
