Coronavirus: "Do visually impaired people need a travel certificate?"

2020-04-06T13:51:35.244Z

An association provides documents specially adapted for disabled people who can also, "exceptionally", do without

Every day, Le Parisien takes action to answer your questions about the coronavirus. Today we are interested in Hélène's questioning who wonders whether blind and partially sighted people, when they have to fill in their displacement certificate to be able to go out during confinement, benefit from accommodation.

The Government indicates that "the exceptional displacement certificate is not necessary, exceptionally, for blind or partially sighted people, on condition of presenting a disability card or a document justifying such a handicap". This is what we read in his frequently asked questions on the coronavirus dedicated to people with disabilities.

A certificate "accessible" online

If a blind or partially sighted individual still wishes to have sesame, the specialized association Valentin Haüy has made available on its site several pre-filled forms specially adapted and "accessible". They correspond to each of the cases authorized to go on the street; essential shopping, commuting between home and work, medical appointment, individual sporting activity or leaving your pet, compelling family motive, judicial or administrative summons, and missions of general interest.

On these documents in Word format, just fill in their name, date and place of birth, address, as well as the place, day, and time of exit. All these missing fields are highlighted in yellow and can be easily accessed via a keyboard shortcut.

Please note: if a blind or visually impaired person goes out accompanied by a valid home support worker, the latter "must have a professional travel exemption," warns the government. This other document can be downloaded from the website of the Ministry of the Interior.
