(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 06 - The Tiffany & Co. Foundation announced today in a statement that it has allocated one million dollars for the Covid-19 emergency. The Foundation will allocate $ 750,000 to the Solidarity Response Fund for the Covid-19, for the World Health Organization (WHO) powered by the United Nations Foundation, 250,000 dollars for the New York Community Trust's Response and Impact Fund Trust NycCovid-19. Tiffany & Co. will also match voluntary donations from its employees to any non-profit organization.
"We are proud to support the organizations that provide immediate help to the communities affected by Covid-19, including our city of New York," said Anisa KamadoliCosta, president of the Tiffany & Co. Foundation.
The Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO gives priority to needs around the world to ensure health systems, especially the weakest, by supporting global efforts to help countries prevent and respond to the pandemic. The support will help send essential supplies to frontline health workers, allow countries to track and detect disease, ensure access to scientific information to prevent infection, treatment and accelerate the discovery and development of vaccines. The New York Covid-19 Response and Impact Fund helps non-profit social services and arts and culture organizations.
Grants and loans are being granted to New York-based nonprofits that are working to meet the new and urgent needs affecting the city due to the Coronavirus. Funds are distributed urgently to organizations in areas of the city where the need is greatest, ensuring broad coverage in all five districts. Priority will be given to non-profit organizations that deal with essential health care and food insecurity, while supporting a wide range of social service organizations and art and culture organizations.
