The cancellation of the Open Championship and the reprogramming of the PGA Championship, Us Open and Masters Tournament. The coronavirus emergency has canceled, for the first time since 1945, "The Open", the oldest Slam tournament in golf (first edition in 1860) from the 2020 calendar.
At the same time, the USGA, the PGA of America and the Augusta National have announced the new programming of the other three golf majors. The PGA Championship, initially scheduled for May 14-17 in San Francisco, will be played on the Harding Park course from August 6 to 9. While the Us Open, originally scheduled for June 18-21 in Mamaroneck, Westchester County (New York), will be recovered from September 17-20 at Winget Foot GC.
Augusta National has instead identified the new dates for the recovery of the Masters Tournament (first scheduled from 9 to 12 April) which, coronavirus permitting, will be played in Georgia (United States) from 12 to 15 November.
