Solidarity fund: no platform for donations

The establishment of a donation platform to allow individuals and businesses to contribute, on a voluntary basis, to saving the economy in the face of the coronavirus crisis will not take the form of… a platform per se . In a recent interview with Le Figaro , Gérald Darmanin had however announced the establishment, for this very beginning of the week, of an " online platform " for all those wishing to participate in the solidarity fund dedicated to small, independent businesses , micro-entrepreneurs and liberal professions in difficulty. This call for donations had caused a revolt among representatives of the left who had not hesitated once again to revive the heated debate on the suppression of the ISF ...

In practice, individuals and businesses wishing to show "national solidarity" must go directly to the office of the Minister of Public Accounts and the Directorate General of Public Finance (DGFiP). Several groups have already done so in the past few days. " The objective is to make large companies, whose activity continue, contribute to this fund for small traders and self-employed hit hard ", insists one in Bercy.

Set up as a matter of urgency for the month of March, and renewed in April, this solidarity fund should make it possible to grant aid of a maximum amount of 1,500 euros to small businesses and professionals affected by the crisis. Additional support of 2,000 euros, instructed by the regions, may be paid to those very strongly impacted. Endowed with an amount of 1.7 billion euros per month, this fund must be largely funded by the State as well as the regions, the exact distribution between the two is not yet clearly defined. Monday evening, Bercy was still waiting for the participation promised for two weeks by insurers to the tune of 200 million euros…
