(ANSA) - VENICE, APRIL 7 - Two women, of probable Maghreb origin, died drowned last night in the Venice lagoon after allegedly falling from a motorboat that was carrying them to the Lido. Nobody witnessed the tragedy.
It was only at the time of the docking that the crew on board noticed that the two were missing. The searches started and after two hours the two corpses were recovered by the firefighters. The boat had left Punta Sabbioni at midnight ivy bound for the Lido. He had only the commander on board. At the first stop, the man noticed that the two passengers were gone and found only their shoes on board. The firefighters and the men of the port captain's office intervened for the inquiries. The two corpses were found on the Lido, near the Mose gates. Among the hypotheses that investigators are considering is also that which may have been a voluntary act. (HANDLE).
