(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 7 - Tripadvisor takes the field to support restaurants in the moment of crisis due to the coronavirus. The travel and restaurant platform, with the first of a series of initiatives aimed at helping local communities involved in the Covid-19 crisis, has decided to allow its users to help the 5 million restaurants on the platform "by encouraging, for example, the purchase of gift vouchers and home delivery or takeaway services from your favorite restaurants. " Gift vouchers - a note explains in particular will have a function "from micro loans that help operators to pay rent and employees and to support other fundamental expenses". Tripadvisor also points out that "with the commitment to bring more attention to businesses, Tripadvisor members will also be encouraged to write reviews and create guides that highlight their favorite restaurants and bars and their recent gastronomic experiences". Among other actions put in place, the contribution of the global community to generating donations is encouraged by showing appreciation for a restaurant or chef on social media and thus promoting donations to people involved in the crisis. It is reported that the Tripadvisor Foundation has committed to donating $ 1 million to support organizations that support the most vulnerable populations in the world in response to Covid-19. It is explained that the Foundation will contribute 1 dollar (up to a maximum of $ 150,000) for each Tripadvisor review posted or shared with the hashtag # LoveYourLocal on public accounts on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. The revenues will go to organizations that help people involved in the crisis. (HANDLE).
